“Second Knot” was sold new in the Great Lakes and has not left them. 100% Freshwater use and stored half of each year out of the water in heated storage.

Welcome aboard this 100% freshwater Carver 396 Motor Yacht 2003. “Second Knot” has been meticulously maintained and is in excellent condition, boasting several upgrades. Powered by Cummins 370 HP, 6TBA5.9-M3, 5.9L diesel engines & ZF Gearboxes with approximately 447 hours of use and a Kohler 10KW generator (with around 200 hours), “Second Knot” also features a factory-installed bow thruster.

Its design offers nearly 7 feet of headroom in the salon, providing more interior space than any other 40-foot boat on the market. This model was only manufactured from 2000 to 2006. The bridge and aft deck are enclosed with Isinglass (new Winter 22/23), all in excellent condition.

The helm is equipped with a Raymarine 12″ GPS/Radar/Chart Plotter, along with Standard Horizon VHF (new 2024), and Raymarine Autopilot. There’s also an exceptional Clarion stereo system with multiple speakers and a full-function remote control on the bridge.

Additional features include a 40lb anchor with 125 feet of chain and windlass pedals on the bow with helm controls as well.

Inside, the salon offers two reclining chairs on the starboard side and a sofa with pull-out storage on the port side. The galley is equipped with a microwave, electric cooktop, fridge, and freezer. For comfort, the yacht features three air conditioners/heat units for zone-controlled comfort in the main salon, V-berth, and master stateroom.

There are two staterooms and two heads, each with showers. The salon boasts a 40″ flat-screen TV, while the master stateroom has another flat-screen TV. LED lighting is found throughout the vessel, providing energy-efficient illumination.

“Second Knot” offers ample storage throughout, including in the salon, staterooms, and heads. This vessel is capable of accommodating liveaboard arrangements and promises many years of enjoyable cruising experiences.
