Who says you can’t improve a good thing? The 50 Fly won’t be a brand-new model at Cannes (2016) , but Azimut has improved the interior design by bringing the galley from the lower deck onto the main deck.
The galley-up configuration, typically favored by American owners, adds to a more convivial atmosphere to the open saloon, while also allowing owner-operators to be chefs rather than galley slaves.
The other positive about the configuration is that there is more space belowdecks for a second saloon or larger staterooms. The 50 Fly shares the new 60’s svelte profile, with the same generous but understated 188-square-foot flybridge.
The three-stateroom layout includes a full-beam master suite, a VIP in the bow, and a double cabin on the starboard side. The master has large picture windows on both sides. The saloon is bright and airy, thanks to the large windows. The dining table for six sits across from the helm, and a large area is ideal socializing.
Carlo Galeazzi designed the interiors, whose options include dark-stained or pickled oak, with ivory and brown fabrics that give a subdued but warm sensibility. Top end is 32 knots and cruise is 26 knots with the Volvo D11 engines.
