The manufacturer Sea Ray chose CES 2026 in Las Vegas to unveil its new model, the Sea Ray SLX 360, as well as the new Simrad AutoCaptain system, the NAVAN C30 boat, and its FLITE RACE board.

CES, or Consumer Electronics Show, is usually a trade show for tech gadgets, but Sea Ray chose this event over the upcoming Miami Boat Show, which will take place in 30 days (mid-February 2026).
This illustrates how boat shows have lost their appeal or are less valued by manufacturers as essential events that attract large crowds. It’s also likely that marketing experts believe that attendance is significantly higher at CES in Las Vegas than at the Miami Boat Show.

But let’s get back to this new model, the SEA RAY SLX 360. It looks very promising, but the competition is already fierce in this segment. Simply define Tiara, Regal, Formula, Boston Whaler, and European brands like Jeanneau, Beneteau, Axopar, Saxdor, and many others.

Here are some photos and a brief description. With its three outboard motors, the price is estimated at US$500,000, but this is a very preliminary estimate.

This was most likely the perfect opportunity to showcase the AI-powered improvements at CES in Las Vegas, such as the Autopilot for docking maneuvers, called AutoCaptain, developed by Simrad Navigation Electronics, which has been owned for several months by Brunswick, the parent company of Sea Ray, Navan, Mercury, and several other recreational boat manufacturers.

The new Simrad AutoCaptain system is sure to appeal to some boaters, but the price and which boat models will be compatible remain to be seen. For now, Brunswick has announced that a Boston Whaler (405) model will soon be available with it. The market is full of recent and very recent used boats in this category.
