Seaway canals

The Seaway system is linked by five short canals. There are 15 locks, which fill and empty by gravity.

 – Canal de la Rive Sud: (two locks: Saint-Lambert and Côte-Sainte-Catherine) 14 nautical miles between the Port of Montreal and Lac Saint-Louis.

– Beauharnois Canal (two locks): 11.3 nautical miles from Lake Saint-Louis to Lake Saint-François

– Wiley-Dondero Canal (two American locks, Snell and Eisenhower): 8 nautical miles to provide access to the St. Lawrence River

– Iroquois Canal (one lock): and a 0.3-nautical-mile water-level regulation facility

– Welland Canal (eight locks): of the seven locks at the north end, three are twinned and contiguous; the eighth, at the south end, is a control lock; 23.5 nautical miles; the canal links Lake Ontario to Lake Erie.

The team of brokers at Ita Yachts Canada and its ProprioBateau division wishes you a sunny summer.
